This project originates from an endless series of mistakes and the desire to give them meaning by discovering a path in error. Each mistake carries a story, becoming the creator of a small world; every error represents a small step towards a deeper understanding of the material.
Clay casting is a traditional method used to reproduce a shape in metal that is traced from a model. Here, in the divided clay block, the form has been directly sculpted, working in the negative. I worked in the negative without control over what would manifest until the work was finished. I utilized the verticality of the mold, leaving vent channels as part of theobject.
I sought the breaking of the mold, allowing the metal to seep into its cracks, producing imperfections. Each of these errors arises as a random occurrence, triggering reasoning that opens a direction, later becoming a part of the process.
I aimed to give shape to the error, making it aesthetic, delving into the casting process, understanding its steps, and then diverting them in my own way. I explored the contrast between control and lack of control, embracing the unexpected and making them protagonists.
